Does an employer have to create a safety program?

Under OSH law, employers have a responsibility to provide a safe workplace free from serious recognized hazards and must comply with standards, rules and regulations issued under the OSH Act. At Centralize HR, we help you establish a workplace safety program and safety-first culture at your job site.

What are the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s OSHA’s employer reporting requirements in the event of an employee’s workplace death?

All employers are required to notify OSHA in the event that an employee dies on the job or suffers a work-related hospitalization, amputation, or loss of an eye. A fatality must be reported within 8 hours. An in-patient hospitalization, amputation, or eye loss must be reported within 24 hours.
